You need to unlock Drizzt by finishing the game on any difficulty first. Play as the necromancer (Ysuran), acquire the 'Vampiric Touch' skill and start killing. Using the character import feature you can then start a new game, import your dwarf, clear everything including the sewers in town, save and then start a new game again to repeat the process until you get 1000 ranged kills. Combined with an upgraded crossbow you can 1-shot most enemies in the early areas of the game.

If you don't plan on doing a playthrough with a ranged weapon, I recommend using the dwarf (Borador) and getting his Hail of Bolts skill to a high/max level (shoots multiple bolts at once) - the Accuracy skill will also help boost damage if needed.

I personally got this while doing a playthrough with the dwarf (Borador) using a crossbow.though bows and throwing knives should work as well. Self-explanatory, will come naturally during your playthrough (depending on playstyle). Simply hit or shoot the black powder barrel to light the fuse, then wait for it to explode - there's a very high chance the rats will be close enough to die instantly. As you progress through the sewers you will enter a room blocked by normal barrels (the big ones) and a black powder barrel (smaller and lighter in color) with three rats that will try to reach you. For the price, this version just doesn’t go far enough, even for players hoping for a hit of spit-shined nostalgia.This will come naturally as you play through the game. Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance has enough engaging story and characters to deserve a genuine remake or remaster. Anyone comfortable with the mechanics and visuals of recent fantasy ARPGs will probably grimace a bit. Players into the historical origins of the genres they love will find Dark Alliance 2 worth playing. At $30 US, it’s a mid-price, 18-year-old game that might still have some evergreen content, but is definitely a product of its time. Cleaned up is a more accurate description, with upscaled resolution and a few less jaggies. Like the recent re-release of Baldur’s Gate, calling this new version of Baldur’s Gate 2 a “remaster” would be hyperbolic. For sure, this doesn’t seem like a major bullet point for the marketing team to latch on to. Although options for adjusting the visuals or sound are bare-bones at best, controller support is good and button assignments can be remapped.
